Dr Robyn Wheldall
Dr Robyn Wheldall is a Founding Director of MultiLit Pty Ltd, a Macquarie University spin-off company established in 2006, and is an Honorary Fellow of Macquarie University. The MultiLit company undertakes research on literacy intervention programs, operates its own literacy centres, provides professional development for those involved in literacy education and support, and develops, publishes and distributes literacy resources and publications. MultiLit is active in all Australian states and territories, in New Zealand, as well as in parts of Asia and Oceania. In 2005, Robyn was awarded a Community Outreach Award from Macquarie University for her MultiLit work with disadvantaged populations.
Robyn is also the Deputy Director of the MultiLit Research Unit and joint founding editor of Nomanis, a new digital magazine which aims to disseminate free, quality information to parents and teachers in the community about evidence-based practices in reading. She has been an Assistant Editor of the journal Educational Psychology and the Australian Journal of Learning Difficulties. She is currently a Council Member of Learning Difficulties Australia (LDA). Prior to her retirement from the University in 2011, Robyn was a Research Fellow at Macquarie University Special Education Centre (MUSEC), following her position as the Research and Development Manager at MUSEC for over 10 years. She was a member of the management team at MUSEC from 1993 to 2006.
